Despite the failure of Singam 3, the third installment in the Singam franchise, Suriya has shifted his focus on Vignesh Shivan’s Thaana Serntha Kootam, which is rumoured to be a remake of Special 26.
Suriya also has a project with Selvaraghavan in the making and this yet-untitled film will go on the floors very shortly.
SR Prabhu, who had bankrolled Kaashmora with Karthi, will be producing this project and it is believed that Rakul Preet and Raashi Khanna are vying for the leading lady’s role in the film.
Interestingly, Rakul has already teamed up with Suriya’s brother Karthi in his upcoming thriller Dheeran Adhigaaram Ondru.
“The makers are in talks with both the heroines. While Raashi was originally considered for the role, it was just recently that even Rakul had become a strong contender. Although it looks like Rakul might bag the role, Raashi might give her a tough fight. Unlike the roles both of them have done so far, Selva sir has written a very interesting character and it needs to be seen who can pull it off,” a source from the film’s unit said.
The film will be shot in Chennai and Hyderabad, and will be simultaneously dubbed in Telugu.
