However, his reputation for being an upright officer who took on powerful people suspected of breaking the law, has led many to speculate that his death was not a suicide.Read: Police maintain no suicide note was found among D K Ravi's thingsOn Monday evening, Ravi’s wife Kusuma tried to reach her husband over the phone, and upon failing to do so, she called his driver who said he had taken Ravi to the flat. When she reached the house at around 6pm with her father, they found that he was hanging from the ceiling of the room. They later summoned the police, who lowered the body. The video appears to have been taken at this time and shows the police releasing the body from the noose. The circulation of the video on social media has raised questions about propriety and even the possible legal consequences of disseminating material that may be part of the evidence gathered for investigation.Read: Congress MLA was putting pressure on DK Ravi, his father-in-law saysIt is unclear whether anybody else apart from the police was present on the day Kusuma and her father Hanumantharayappa found Ravi’s body.Commissioner of Police MN Reddi said that he had already ordered an inquiry and that DCP Rohini Katoch Sepat would supervise the investigation and submit a report.Tweet Follow @thenewsminute
