'Where is law and order?': Hyderabad stunned after another daylight attack

Two brazen attacks having taken place in broad daylight in Telangana, in a mere month, have made many Hyderabad's dwellers furious over the deteriorating law and order situation in the state.

On Wednesday, a gruesome murder took place on Attapur main road in Hyderabad, where a man accused to be involved in a murder case was brutally hacked to death in broad daylight with an axe by two persons. During the attack, bystanders intervene and try to stop the attack, a traffic policeman also joins in to stop the attack, however in vain.

What has particularly led to the outrage amongst the public is the presence of a police vehicle right near the spot where the victim, P Ramesh was being attacked. Instead of immediately intervening, the patrol vehicle left the spot overlooking the gruesome act. According to Shamshabad DCP, the policemen did not park the car immediately as it would have created a traffic block, they stopped the car a little ahead and took time to take their lathis.

Within minutes of the incident, a video of the murder was circulated, in which the police vehicle is clearly seen, and a man can be seen gesturing to the police about the attack. Several have now begun to question the police and the face of the TRS party, KT Rama Rao, who is also the Minister of Urban Development and Municipal Administration.

“Sir, Hope you are having a good day I want to ask you a question what's happening in Hyderabad and Telangana ... like 3 murders in a row.. I cant believe that it is happening in golden Telangana And the recent murder in Attapur taken place in front of a police officer,” stated another.

“A police vehicle is seen standing and seeing the murder happen, At least the traffic cop tried to stop the murder, This murder will dent Hyderabad image really badly and especially the image of police. This will go viral all over world, really sad to see this happen in Hyderabad,” (sic) wrote Roop Darak, a member of Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha on Twitter.

Amjed Ullah Khan, spokesperson for the Majlis Bachao Tehreek, said that Hyderabad was turning into a capital of crimes.

“What is happening in Hyderabad no one knows, It is becoming the crime capital of the country now a days....” (sic), he wrote on the social media platform.

Seeking action against the police, Viswanath Toshniwal wrote, “Two persons murdered one person in day light. This incident is said to happen near pillar no 143 attapur. Police and police vehicle can be seen passing from incident, doing nothing. Action req.” (sic)
