Harish Iyer’s mother, Padma Vishwanathan who had placed a matrimonial ad in a newspaper in May seeking a “animal-loving groom for her son, caste no bar but Iyer preferred” appears to have found a match for her son. The advertisement had created ruffles on social media, with some coming in support of Harish, others expressing their discontent at the caste preference.According to a report in Bangalore Mirror “Mr Attainable”, as Harish likes to call the potential groom, visited the family on Sunday evening and thoroughly charmed them including his grandmother by rendering a Carnatic number. Coincidently, while Harish is based in Mumbai, the potential groom too is reportedly working in Mumbai as a statistician.Padma suggested that the two first meet at a temple in Nerul in Mumbai. "I do visit temples and churches more when I have a prayer to say, seek solace or to share something with nobody. I never in my life imagined that I will be dating in a temple," Harish was quoted as saying by the paper.During this meet, Harish was thrilled to find that the potential groom too was an animal lover like him.Following this, the two went to Harish’s house where “Mr Attainable” was subject to a question-answer round from the Iyers. The meeting lasted for two hours with the family having dosas for dinner. The highly impressed grandmother remarked, "See, because he is from the south, we could do with dosas for dinner. If he were from somewhere else, we would have had to make roti and sabzi for dinner."Padma has advised Harish to take his time and get to know the potential groom better and then take a call on the future, the report added.
