The Hyderabad High Court on Friday was informed by the producers of Telugu film 'Vangaveeti', that they had decided to remove one song from the movie, which had references of 'caste rivalry'.

The Times of India reported that the makers also decided to withdraw the teaser of the film they released on social media, pending clearance from the Censor Board. 

Directed by Ram Gopal Verma, the film tracks the life of Vijayawada Congress leader Vangaveeti Mohana Ranga, whose assassination had triggered off wide spread political turmoil in the state in the late 1980s. 

There were also caste riots after the murder, between the Kammas and the Kapus in the state.

The HC was hearing a petition that was filed by Ranga's son Radhakrishna, who had questioned the non-approved release of the teaser, and also stated that it would cause fresh tension in the state.

The film’s audio launch was scheduled to be held in Vijayawada on Saturday.
