Have Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma really split? The couple has been dating since 2013, when they met while filming a commercial. Amidst speculations of marriage, news of the couple's "reported" break-up seems to have taken many by surprise.
Reports are all source based as the couple has not made any official announcement.
Here is what some reports had to say and we are mighty confused after reading them.
A source told Mumbai Mirror, "All rumours about Virat trying to woo Anushka back are hogwash. He unfollowed her on Twitter and Instagram and then, uploaded, deleted and reuploaded a photograph of himself, originally captioned, 'Heartbroken’.”
Last week, Kohli Kohli was seen dancing at actor Angad Bedi’s party at a nightclub in Mumbai. He apparently greeted others in the party saying, "I'm single, let's dance". An eyewitness at the present at the event told the Mirror that Kohli was happy and, according to one of his friends, "back to his natural, old self", the tabloid said.
The Times of India has carried different versions of the same story.
Quoting a Mumbai Mirror report, TOI's copy headlined "Confirmed: Anushka Sharma-Virat Kohli split" stated that "while the 27-year-old actress is maintaining a stoic silence on the breakup, her former beau has made quite a spectacle of it."
Another TOI report quotes sources from cricket circles saying that the couple probably hasn't broken up "but they are rethinking their relationship."
It further adds, "The final blow came when Virat bowed out of a series to finish his Mumbai commitments (including ad shoots and probably spending time with Anushka) but the actress couldn't make time for him owing to the schedule of her next film.
DNA carried a report stating "3 instances that provethe break-up has actually happened!"
This includes the selfie which Virat posted on Instagram with the caption "heartbroken". He was quick to delete it and upload it again with a different caption.
He unfollowed Anushka Sharma on Twitter and Instagram. "Now this was the biggest proof about the troubles in their love paradise. How evident, VK!," says the report.
The third reason, though a bit weird, goes as such, "Buzz is that Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma broke up because she wasn’t ready for marriage yet…Punjabis have a tradition of growing a beard which they sport during their marriage. The stories claim that after Anushka refused Virat's marriage proposal, he shaved off his beard instantly."
But the most bizarre one was by CricketCountry.com. The headline screamed- Virat Kohli, Anushka Sharma announce their break-up officially.
All excited, we clicked on the link. And this is what the first paragraph said. “The news emerged on Sunday that the couple has officially announced their separation and will focus on their respective careers hereon. Although an official statement is yet to come from both Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma, however close sources from the couple have officially confirmed their split.”
Huh? So is it officially official? Or officially unofficial?
