Water supply will be disrupted in several parts of Bengaluru on Friday, September 28 and Saturday September 29 due to maintenance work which will be carried out on Cauvery Water Supply Stage I, II and III.

According to a release by the Bengaluru Water Supply and Sewerage Board (BWSSB), the surge protection system at the pumping stations for the stages I, II and III will be carried out on Friday and Saturday between 10 am and 4 pm.

The areas which will be affected are:

"If the pumping system is not controlled or protected, contamination and damage to equipment and the pipeline itself can be serious. The effects of surges can be as minor as loosening of pipe joints to as severe as damage to pumps, valves, and concrete structures. Hence it is important to maintain it properly. A two-day problem for residents will help in the long run," a BWSSB official said.
