Virat Kohli, the captain of the Indian cricket team, is one of the most popular cricketers around and his brand-value seems to skyrocket with every new ad campaign that is launched.

Recently, Dwayne Bravo called Virat Kohli the “Cristiano Ronaldo of cricket”. HIs exact words were: “When I see Virat, I see the Cristiano Ronaldo of cricket. For me, as a cricket player, to play against him and to watch him play, represent India and Royal Challengers Bangalore, I just admire the talent he has, the passion he has for the sport. Hats off to him and he deserves all the accolades that he is getting.”

In fact, Kohli recently declared that he takes inspiration from Ronaldo’s work ethic.

So imagine how elated the fans of Kohli and Ronaldo were when American Tourister revealed their latest ad campaign, which features the two sporting giants.

Kohli took to Instagram to reveal the video of the commercial.

“Have you seen what @cristiano and I have been up to? Check out the new #HardtoLetGo #Curio from @AmTouristerIN,” Kohli wrote along with the video that contained the two icons in their respective sports.

The commercial shows Ronaldo unwilling to let go of his suitcase at an airport – instead, he jumps into the baggage scanner. As people start recognising him and taking his photo, the buzz changes. He ships around to see Virat Kohli on a neighbouring belt, holding on to his suitcase.

The cricketing superstar and the 5-time Ballon D’Or winner were both named in the 2017 Forbes list of the 10 most valuable athletes in the world. While Kohli came seventh in the elite list, Ronaldo was features three spots above.

Kohli is currently playing in the Indian Premier League. He is the captain of the Royal Challengers Bangalore, who have had a difficult start to the campaign. RCB are currently in the sixth spot of the table having won only 2 out of their first 6 matches and have a lot of catching up to do if they want to qualify for the knockout stages.

Ronaldo is currently back in Spain after a successful trip to Germany for Real Madrid’s Champions League semi-final clash, where they beat German champions, Bayern Munich, at the Allianz Arena to put Real Madrid in prime position to qualify for the finals that will be held in Kiev.
