Actor Vikram has been taking great care in launching his son Dhruv Vikram in the Tamil cinema. Reports were that the actor pressed pause on his own acting assignments, taking time off to oversee the shooting of Druv’s debut movie, Adithya Varma, which had to be shot again after it was almost ready for a release. Dhruv, too, had shared multiple posts on his social handles, thanking his father for guiding him through.

Now that the film is all ready for release this week, the proud father has also been accompanying Dhruv on his promotional press meets.

At a recent media interaction held in Kerala, Vikram could be seen teasing his son many times, much to the amusement of everyone gathered. The two shared candid father-son moments while answering questions from the media.

“Like he said, I’ve not seen so many people smiling at a press meet,” said Dhruv while answering a question, when Vikram interrupted him asking, “First of all, have you seen so many people in a press meet in your life?” and burst out laughing.

Answering a question about his thoughts on Malayalam cinema, Dhruv refers to Kumbalangi Nights. But before he could complete his sentence — “If you’ve seen Kumbalangi Nights…” — Vikram quickly butt in with another joke: “You’re asking them if they’ve seen it?”.

A visibly embarrassed Dhruv then gave his father the side-eye, all the while laughing and pleading him to stop: “Wait, pesaviden, paa (let me talk, dad)”. Dhruv then turned the mic entirely towards himself and continued his sentence only after Vikram went easy on the ragging.

The video goes to show fans just how close the father-son are. Dhruv will be making his acting debut in Adithya Varma, which is the official Tamil remake of the Telugu film Arjun Reddy.

The movie was initially directed by director Bala, although this version was entirely scrapped by the producers E4 Entertainment. The film was then shot from scratch with debut director Girisayya, who had assisted filmmaker Sandeep Reddy Vanga on Arjun Reddy. Adithya Varma is expected to release on November 21.
