Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers are the mainstays of the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) line-up and on Sunday, they came in for praise from an unlikely quarter after RCB’s fabulous win against Delhi Daredevils a day earlier.

After the match, Google CEO Sundar Pichai took to Twitter to heap praise on the RCB superstars. He replied to a tweet that was posted by Kohli earlier and said, “Was lucky to watch it live, you and @ABdeVilliers17 made it look so easy! and with classic cricketing shots too, really enjoying #IPL2018 this year”

The Royal Challengers Bangalore faced the Delhi Daredevils at the Feroz Shah Kotla on Saturday. After a lacklustre start to the tournament, the team led by Virat Kohli found themselves in a must-win situation to stay alive in the tournament. Delhi, on the other hand, was playing the role of party-poopers as they were eliminated from contention of making the knockout stages earlier in the tournament.

Shreyas Iyer’s men came into the game playing for pride while RCB was battling to keep their campaign alive and needed a victory. Batting first, Rishabh Pant continued his purple patch with 61 from 34 balls which was instrumental in Delhi reaching a competitive total of 181 for 4 in 20 overs.

After losing two early wickets, RCB’s star batsmen Virat Kohli and AB De Villiers found themselves in the middle with their team’s campaign resting on their shoulders. The duo didn’t disappoint as both made invaluable contributions to see the side through. They were involved in a 118-run partnership for the third wicket off just 64 balls. Kohli was dismissed for 70 from 40 balls following which, De Villiers took over and guided his side to victory with 6 balls remaining. He remained unbeaten on 72 from 37 balls.

The last three group games for RCB are all must-win encounters. RCB’s next game will be an away fixture against Kings XI Punjab on Monday followed by a home game against Sunrisers Hyderabad on Thursday. The team will play their final group match against Rajasthan Royals on Saturday.
