Wait, what? Did Vijay’s Vettaikaran parody song just predict our PM’s foreign policy?

What’s the connection between Vettaikaran and Prime Minister Modi?

Sameera Ahmed| The News Minute| August 25, 2014| 8.00 pm ISTHere’s a parody take of a Tamil song that uncannily predicts the real-life moves of Prime Minister Modi with his international counterparts from US, Pakistan and Sri Lanka since elections. Someone uploaded a ‘morphed’ version of Vijay’s Vettaikaran movie song much before elections, but we think it is sort of a checklist, getting crossed off one by one.The song starring Vijay starts off like the original, a close-up of the actor strutting about shows that it’s not him – but a caricature of PM Modi himself. The video gets better and better, as “Manmohan Singh”, “Obama” , “Nawaz Sharif” and “Rajapaksa” make guest appearances. REEL VS REALITYIn a blink and you miss scene, it shows ex-PM “Manmohan Singh” worried about the health of a hospital patient at the bedside– the patient is , well, the dismal ‘Indian Economy’.Akin to reality, it goes on to show “Modi” protect “Manmohan Singh” from attacks by India’s friendly neighbour, Pakistan. Subtly the hint is at Modi taking on the Nawaz Sharif government by its horns in the last few months, leaving Nawaz Sharif to sulk!  âœ”PM Modi and Obama are seen dancing together. What with the PM set to visit the US this September, a guest-entrance by “Obama” dancing merrily with “Modi” is indicative of the growing relationship between the two countries. âœ” The icing on the cake, however, is when our “chhappan inch ki chhati” Indian representative tears up Sri Lanka’s version of the kachcchatheevu agreement and makes “Rajapaksa” sign one of his own. In real life, AIADMK, DMK and other parties have been urging the ruling government to take the exact same step. Result AwaitedSometimes words can only do so much. Watch and prepare to be stunned at the song that we think uncannily predicted Prime Minister Modi’s foreign policy, country by country.
