And now, we hear that Rana has the Tamil remake rights of this sports drama. Reports are that Vishnu Vishal has been approached to reprise the role done by Nani in the original. He is a cricketer in real life and is an apt choice for the role. Nelson Venkadesan is likely to wield the megaphone for this remake.

It may be noted here that the Hindi remake rights of Jersey have been bagged by ace director and producer Karan Johar. Reports are that Gowtham Tinnanuri, the director of the Telugu version, may be wielding the megaphone for the Hindi remake but sources say that talks are in very nascent stages and nothing has been finalized as yet.

On the hero to be reprising Nani’s role, sources say that it could be Shahid Kapoor. We need to wait for more official details on this remake.

Jersey had Nani and Shraddha Srinath playing the lead pair with Sathyaraj, Brahmaji and Ronit Kamra in supporting roles. Jersey was bankrolled by Suryadevara Naga Vamsi under the banner of Sithara Entertainments and helmed by director Gowtam Tinnanuri. The film will have Anirudh composing the tunes, Navin Nooli in charge of the editing and Sanu Varghese cranking the camera.
