The script of Dileep’s upcoming film Professor Dinkan has reportedly been tweaked and a new character included in the cast. Actor Vishnu Unnikrishnan of the Kattappanayile Rithwik Roshan fame has hopped on board this project and it is said that his role was created after the script was redone to suit the tastes of the family audiences.

The film has Dileep playing the lead role with young Namitha Pramod as his heroine. The cast also includes Suraj Venjaramoodu, Aju Varghese, Srinda Arhaan, Rafi, Kochu Preman and Kailas.

Scripted by Rafi, Professor Dinkan has Dileep playing a magician. The story reportedly has the magician performing a trick that unwittingly affects the lives of some people. Following this, he tries hard to set right the damage he has done and that forms the crux of the story.

While award winning cinematographer Ramachandra Babu will be directing the film and cranking the camera as well for Professor Dinkan, the editing will be done by Rajesh Mangalakal. The movie is being bankrolled by Sanal Thottam under the banner New TV.

The film was initially planned as a comedy entertainer but the makers reportedly decided to convert it into a family entertainer later. Apparently, it is a bid to bring in a large number of family audiences to the theatre, following the controversies circling Dileep, a rape accused involved in the attack of a fellow actor in Kochi last year.

Also, Professor Dinkan will be shot and released in 3D format. The team involved in this work is also working on the computer graphics of one of the most anticipated films, the Rajinikanth starrer 2.0

The shooting of Professor Dinkan commenced in February this year in Thiruvananthapuram. The team took a short break and the filming has recommenced recently. It is likely to hit the theatres later this year.
