Amidst rumours of his wedding doing the rounds, actor Vishal has now clarified that the photos of the woman being circulated as his fiancé have no truth in them and that he will make an official statement regarding his engagement and wedding “as soon as things have been finalised”.

Rumours that the actor was going to marry a Telugu woman, the daughter of a Hyderabad-based businessman, surfaced last month and have been spreading like wildfire since. Vishal, however, made no comments on the news itself.

As President of Tamil Film Producers’ Council (TFPC), Vishal has been in the news for quite some time. The group of producers accused Vishal of misappropriating funds and not adhering to the bye-laws of the Council, demanding that he step down immediately.

The group also proceeded to lock down Council offices in T Nagar and Anna Salai. Vishal, who tried to open the locks, was detained by the police for 8 hours. Following this, Vishal filed a case against those members and non-members who acted against him and the rest of the Council. The incident ended with the court ruling in favour of Vishal and ordering the re-opening of offices.

Vishal was last seen in Sandakozhi 2 alongside Keerthy Suresh and Varalaxmi Sarathkumar. He has Ayogya with director Venkat Mohan and another yet-untitled project with director Sundar C in the making.

TFPC recently launched the tickets for Ilaiyaraaja 75, a tribute planned for the music maestro. The event, which has been planned for February 2 and 3 at Chennai’s YMCA grounds in Nandanam, will celebrate 75 years of the legendary music composer.

The 2-day event will have singers from across the country performing on day one, with Ilaiyaraaja himself performing on day 2 for the grand finale. Addressing the press, Vishal stated that artists from Budapest, Hungary have been invited to perform for the event.
