Actor Vikram, last seen playing a cop in Saamy Square, will next be seen in the upcoming thriller Kadaram Kondan, which is directed by Rajesh M Selva. The makers recently revealed via a statement that the talkie portion of the film has been wrapped up and that they are planning a July release. The film, which has been shot predominantly in Malaysia, is produced by Kamal Haasan’s Raaj Kamal International.

Last November, the makers unveiled the first look poster of the film on the occasion of Diwali. The poster gave us a glimpse into the character played by Vikram, who looked menacing, sporting a thick salt-and-pepper beard and slick hairdo. The teaser was released earlier this year and it promised a lot of action. The film, which has music by Ghibran, also stars Akshara Haasan and Pooja Kumar in crucial roles. Actor Shruti Haasan recently recorded a song for the film’s album. Vikram has crooned a motivational number in the film, which will be used in a crucial action sequence.

During the launch of the project last August, it was mentioned in a statement that this film is the 45th production of Raaj Kamal Films. The film, which will be dubbed and released in Telugu, marks the first time collaboration of Vikram and Rajesh Selva.

Meanwhile, Vikram will soon start shooting for the Rs 300 crore magnum opus Mahaveer Karna, a bilingual project to be directed by RS Vimal, best known for helming the Malayalam Ennu Ninte Moideen. Vikram currently also has a yet-untitled action-thriller project with Ajay Gnanamuthu, dubbed Chiyaan Vikram 54. To be produced by 7 Screen Studio in association with Viacom 18 Studios, the project will go on the floors from August this year and the makers plan to release it in April 2020. He also has the long pending project Dhruva Natchathiram in his kitty.
