Veteran actor Vijayashanti has stayed away from filmdom for a long time. The actor is now all set to stage a comeback and if things proceed well it could be with a Mahesh Babu starrer. She was last seen in the Telugu movie Nayudamma which released in 2006.
It is well known that Mahesh Babu will be moving over to the Anil Ravipudi directorial now that his Maharshi is gearing up for release next month. Sources in the know say that the director had approached Vijayashanti for a pivotal role in the film and she has evinced interest. An official announcement about her being on board is expected to be made once things are finalised. This film is set for early 2020 release and the shooting will begin soon.
It may be noted here that Vijayashanti is an actor par excellence with several awards in her kitty. She has been awarded the prestigious National Film Award for Best Actress for Karthavyam in 1990 and has won numerous Filmfare Best Actress Award and Nandi Awards in her illustrious career.
Meanwhile, Mahesh Babu’s Maharshi is gearing up for release on May 9. Directed by Vamsi Paidapally, Maharshi is a high budget project with a major portion of it being shot in the United States. The film is about three friends played by Mahesh Babu, Allari Naresh and Pooja Hegde. Maharshi is being produced jointly by Dil Raju, C. Ashwini Dutt and Prasad V. Potluri under the banners Sri Venkateswara Creations, Vyjayanthi Movies and PVP Cinema. The technical crew of this film includes Devi Sri Prasad as its music composer, K. U. Mohanan as the cinematographer and Praveen KL as the editor.
