Following the back-to-back success of Kavan and Vikram Vedha, it can be said that Vijay Sethupathi is on a career high and this is undoubtedly the best phase of his career.

As his latest film Karuppan, a rural entertainer hits the screens on Friday, Vijay will leave for a month-long Europe schedule for his upcoming film Junga, which he is bankrolling on a budget of Rs. 20 crore. He has gone clean shaven for the film in which he plays a local don who goes to Paris to woo the girl of his dreams. The film will reunite Vijay with director Gokul, with whom he had worked in Idharkuthane Aasaipattai Balakumara

While 60% of the film will be shot in France, the rest of the portions will be shot in Austria, Croatia, Bulgaria and Chennai. It’s believed to be the most expensive film in the career of Vijay Sethupathi. He agreed to produce the film because he was really impressed with the script.  Instead of taking remuneration, he agreed to produce the film on profit-sharing basis, much to the surprise of the director.

Junga will showcase Vijay in a different dimension. Most of the technical crew from Gokul’s last film is said to have been retained, according to a reliable source. Sam CS of Vikram Vedha fame has been roped in to compose the music.

On the career front, Vijay has a project with Mani Ratnam in his kitty. He also has megastar Chiranjeevi’s historic drama Sye Raa Narasimha, in which he will share screen space with Amitabh Bachchan, Sudeep and Nayanthara. He also has to complete Thiagarajan Kumararaja’s Super Deluxe, in which he is rumoured to be playing a cross-dresser.
