The shooting of Ilaiyathalapathy Vijay’s next yet-untitled project, under the direction of Atlee, is going on in full swing in Chennai’s EVP World. The interesting buzz surrounding the film is that Vijay, for the first time in his over two-decade long career, will be seen playing triple roles – that of a father and two sons. While the reports are yet to be confirmed, our sources have said that the Theri actor will be seen playing a Sardar in one of the roles and Nithya Menen is likely to play his pair.
The portions featuring Vijay and Nithya are said to be filmed against 1980s backdrop. It has also been revealed that Vijay will once again be seen playing a cop after Theri, which was also helmed by Atlee, and turned out to be a blockbuster. It’s still unknown what role Vijay is playing as the other son and the makers are trying their best to keep it under wraps.
A major schedule will be shot from April across exotic locations in Europe. Earlier, the makers had planned to shoot in the US. Unfortunately, they had to shelve the idea owing to Donald Trump’s tough immigration policies.
The film also stars Kajal Aggarwal and Samantha Ruth Prabhu in important roles. AR Rahman is composing the music.
