It has been confirmed that Bollywood actor Vidya Balan and the Baahubali star Rana Daggubati will be joining the sets of the NTR biopic soon. While Vidya Balan has been roped in to play NTR’s wife Basavatharakam, Rana will be seen as the Andhra Pradesh chief minister and NTR’s son-in-law N Chandra Babu Naidu.

The shooting of the film kicked off on Thursday at a private studio. The makers erected a massive set for the opening scene, which was from Mana Desam, NTR’s debut film.

Well, there are other interesting roles in the biopic that have gone to the best talents such as Jisshu Sengupta and Sachin Khederkar. Reports say that Jisshu will be seen playing the late prolific filmmaker and Dadasaheb Phalke winner LV Prasad while Sachin will be donning the greasepaint as the ex-chief minister of Andhra Pradesh Nadhendla Bhaskar Rao. It may be noted that Jisshu will be associating with director Krish for the second time as he had worked with him in the historical Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi, where he was seen as King Gangadhar Rao, Rani Lakshmibai’s husband.

Besides these actors, the star cast also includes Keerthy Suresh, Mohan Babu and Sumanth playing Savitri, SV Ranga Rao and A Nageswara Rao respectively. The biopic, which is a well researched project, initially had Teja helming the affairs as the director, but the mantle was later handed over to Krish. Reports indicate that this biopic will bring out some unknown facets of the life of the legendary actor and politician who had a big fan following, of which many later converted into his political followers.

The shooting of this biopic is currently underway with plans to have it released for Sankaranthi next year. Being N Balakrishna’s pet project, the biopic will have him in the title role. The film is being produced jointly by Vishnu Induri, Sai Korrapati and N Balakrishna.
