An African student and member of the Association of African Students in India, Wumbey Mina posted a video on Facebook on Wednesday over the shocking incident in which a Tanzanian woman was allegedly assaulted and stripped naked in Bengaluru on January 31.

In the video, she outrages against the mob, asking if they have mothers and condemns the police for being a mute spectator instead of offering help.

She is also heard asking the government to do more to sensitize the public about racial discrimination besides rallying all African students to come together to seek justice for the hapless victim.

“If you don’t want foreigners coming to your country, close your borders. But as long as we are in the country, the police must protect us. Indians are living in our countries peacefully and then why is it a problem

"The racism is too much. The intolerance is too much. Non-acceptance is too much," she is heard saying.

The video has registered more than 53,000 views till now and has been shared almost 1900 times.

The incident become a raging issue of television debates across all major news channels by Thursday due to the apathy from the state government.

It was only four days after the incident that the police made five arrests. The CM of Karnataka broke his silence only after the external affairs minister intervened.

The matter became worse when Karnataka Home Minister G Parameshwara contradicted himself in the press conference on Thursday when he said initially that she was not 'stripped', but later read out her statement in which she said her clothes were torn by the mob. He also insisted that the incident was not a racial attack.

On January 31, the Tanzanian student was travelling in another car, a Wagon-R, along with four other friends and had arrived at the accident spot 30 minutes after the incident occurred. The mob reportedly beat her in the presence of the police. A bystander, who tried to help the woman, was also reportedly attacked.
