VHP’s international working president Pravin Togadia has been banned from entering Dakshina Kannada district for a week, reported Coastal Digest.
Togadia, who was scheduled to visit the district on Friday, was banned by the district administration fearing he would make provocative or inflammatory speeches that may stoke communal tension and create law and order problems.
Prohibitory orders are already in force until November 12 owing to Tipu Jayanthi.
Citing sources, the website stated that Togadia was scheduled to participate in the diamond jubilee celebrations of the Bhajana Saptaha at Kokkada village in Belthangady. The event was scheduled for Friday evening.
Togadia has been banned from entering Dakshina Kannada district in the past, with a similar order issued in December 2015.
