R. Madhavan-starrer Saala Khadoos, which was also released in Tamil as Irudhi Suttru, is all set to be remade in Telugu with Venkatesh, who will be essaying the role of a washed-out coach in the film. Slated to go on the floors later this year, this project will require Venkatesh to muscle up and take boxing lessons and the actor has already started taking his role very seriously. According to a source, he will also be required to shed weight and Venkatesh is working towards that goal.
To be helmed by Sudha Kongara, who helmed the original, the remake will also star Ritika Singh, the kick-boxer-turned-actress who stunned audiences and critics alike with her performance. As soon as Ritika completes shooting for her Tamil film, Aaandavan Kattalai, she will start training for the remake, which will be bankrolled by Suresh Productions.
Meanwhile, Venkatesh awaits the release of his upcoming film Babu Bangaram. He plays a funny cop in the film, which marks his third time collaboration with Nayanthara. Directed by Dasari Maruthi, the film is gearing up to hit the screens in September.
