On investigation, however, it was found that the girls lied about the incident in a bid to avoid going to school.According to Superintendent of Police (Hassan) Ravi Channanavar, the parents came to the police station on Friday alleging that their daughters had been kidnapped by four boys and claimed that an attempt to rape was made against them. However the girls managed to escape from their clutches and managed to seek help, they narrated.Based on the complaint, the police swung into action and the SP formed four teams to trace the attackers. As the police began questioning the girls individually, they found loopholes in their story and the versions of the two did not match. Furthermore, the clues they found did not add up to what they were told. Eventually, the girls confessed to having faked the entire incident as they were being forced to attend school against their wishes by their parents.
