The News Minute | February 21, 2015 | 5.15 PM IST In a case where a former journalist was caught on Friday for allegedly stealing documents from the Petroleum Ministry and leaking it to corporate companies, Twitteratti are questioning the news daily Hindustan Times. Five companies, viz., Reliance Industries Limited, Essar, Cairns India, ADAG Reliance and Jubilant Energy have come under the scanner of investigative agencies and some of their top officials have also been arrested. Further investigations are also underway to nab more of those who are suspected o be involved in this scam. However, the Hindustan Times newspaper did not name Jubilant energy in its report on Saturday. Though the print edition did not mention the name of the company, a report on the newspaper's website made a mention of the name, adding that the company was unwilling to react. The print edition report only said: “The police arrested five officials of corporate houses including Reliance Industries Limited (RIL) and Essar amid evidence that stolen papers contained details of likely budget proposals involving billions of dollars slated for announcement next week.” However, Twiteratti are questioning the reason behind not naming Jubilant in its news report. The name of the company Jubliant Energy which was not mentioned in the report, has one Shyam S. Bhartia as its director. People are pointing out on Twitter that the vice president of Hindustan Times Shobana Bhartia, is the wife of Director Shyam Bhartia. This is unaccepable by HT - naming other companies but not Jubilant Energy. I mean, who are they trying to fool here? pic.twitter.com/2GVNYlpFtL — Anand Ranganathan (@ARangarajan1972) February 21, 2015 @ARangarajan1972 Excuse me! HT is owned by Mrs. Shobana Bhartia (69% stake) who is the wife of the MD of Jubilant Energy Mr. Shyam S Bhartia — Senyor Sandeep (@SenyorSandeep) February 21, 2015 Hindustan Times competitor Times of India however made a splash of the news, prominently mentioning Jubilant Energy's name on its front page report. Tweet Follow @thenewsminute
