The son of a Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) municipal corporator was arrested in Hyderabad for harassing women on social media was arrested by Central Crime Station police on Tuesday night.

Two women approached the police alleging that Abhishek Goud and his friends contacted them over Facebook and WhatsApp and harassed them, and was forcing themto meet him. The son of Malkajgiri corporator N Jagadeeshwar Goud, Abhishek also threatened to upload morphed pictures of the women on pornography websites, according to a report by NTV.

" In our investigation, we found out that the accused (Abhishek Goud) was involved in this. He confessed to it. We have filed cases against him after the two women complained. Two FIR 's have been issued, and cases have been filed under Section 354(b), 507 (Criminal intimidation by an anonymous communication), 508 (Act caused by inducing person to believe that he will be rendered an object of the Divine displeasure) and section 67 of the Information Technology Act (Punishment for publishing or transmitting obscene material in electronic form), D Kavitha, the Assistant Commissioner of Police of the She Team said.

“Abhishek stalked the victims Instagram profiles, took the photos and morphed them with obscene content. He sent those pictures to these women and forced them to chat with him in on WhatsApp and Messenger (Facebook),” the Commissioner added.

Two women filed a complaint with SHE Team, who then transferred to Central Crime Station since the case involved cyberstalking.

Police have received close to ten complaints regarding his online abuse. He was also harassing his juniors students from school and college he studied in, TV9 reported.

To protect his identity, he reportedly made calls through the internet from different areas in the city. After tracking the IP address, police arrested him from his home in Malkajgiri.
