In 2017, Kollywood’s leading ladies are going solo. After Nayanthara, who has signed a bunch of women-centric films, it’s Trisha’s turn to follow suit and prove her mettle in projects sans the support of a male star. Although her recent attempt to play the only lead in Nayaki failed, the setback hasn’t stopped her. With horror-thriller Mohinii in her kitty, Trisha has signed yet another female-centric bilingual thriller 1818, which will be simultaneously made in Tamil and Telugu.
According to a statement, the story is inspired from real-life incidents based on the Mumbai terror attacks. The film features five important characters and the plot revolves around them. It’s Trisha who drives the film forward and carries it on her shoulders. The film’s story takes places between 6 pm and 6 am (next day) inside a 5-star hotel. The film also stars Brahmanandam, Rajendra Prasad, Suman and Meera Ghoshal in pivotal roles.
To be directed by Ridhun Sagar, the film’s regular shoot will commence as soon as Trisha returns from her New Year holiday in Thailand. This year she has an exciting lineup of films, including Sathuranga Vettai 2, a remake of NH 10 titled 96, and her maiden Malayalam film Hey Jude, with Nivin Pauly.
