Traffic diversions and restrictions will be in place around Tank Bund and the Hussain Sagar Lake in Hyderabad on Wednesday as the city police is gearing up to host ‘Saddula Bathukamma’ festivities. In a press note, the police said, “In order to relieve traffic congestion and to maintain smooth flow of traffic and to ensure public safety in connection with ‘Saddula Bathukamma’ on October 17 on Upper Tank bund and NTR Marg from 4 pm to 11 pm,” traffic diversions and restrictions were being imposed.
“The general traffic on Tank Bund from Telugu Talli flyover side and Karbala Maidan side will not be allowed, while traffic coming from Secunderabad towards Upper Tank Bund will be diverted at Karbala Maidan towards Bible House-Jabbar complex-Kawadiguda-Lower Tank bund-Kattamaisamma and Telugu Talli flyover,” the police said.
“Traffic coming from Kawadiguda towards Children’s Park and Upper Tank bund will not be allowed and will be diverted at DBR Mills towards Kattamaisamma, while traffic coming from Iqbal Minar will be diverted at Old Gate Secretariat on to the Telugu Talli flyover-Kattamaisamma-Indira Park-Gandhinagar and RTC X Road,” it added.
Traffic coming from Panjagutta and Raj Bhavan road via Khairtabad fly over will be diverted at the Indira Gandhi Statue at Necklace Rotary, towards Prasads Multiplex and Mint Lane, while traffic from Nallagutta junction towards Buddha Bhavan will not be allowed and will be asked to proceed towards Ranigunj and Necklace road.
The police also said that traffic from Himayathnagar and Basheerbagh towards the Ambedkar Statue, will be diverted at the GHMC Y Junction towards the Telugu Talli Flyover. Traffic coming from Musheerabad will be diverted at Kavadiguda X Road and will not be allowed towards Jabbar complex.
The police also issued an advisory to all inter district RTC buses and city buses that frequently use the area.
For the public, the police also set up various parking places, at Snow World, NTR Stadium, beside Prasads, MS Maktha, beside NTR Garden and behind Buddha Bhavan.
“All citizens are requested to avoid above routes and take alternate routes to reach destinations and cooperate with Hyderabad City Traffic Police during the above diversion period,” the police said.
