1. Lokayukta Justice Y Bhaskar Rao directed the Lokayukta police to register cases against former chief minister H D Kumaraswamy and B S Yeddyurappa in the alleged land denotification scam between 2007 and 2012, based on the findings of a CID report. 2. Upalokayukta Justice Subhash B Adi sent a notice to BBMP Administrator T M Vijay Bhaskar asking him to explain why licenses of hoardings were being renewed despite the council passing a resolution to ban hoardings in the city. He also asked the Lokayukta to probe the advertisement hoardings scam in BBMP. 3 . Prohibitory orders have been imposed by the city police within one-kilometre radius of Vidhana Soudha expecting a protest by advocates against the state government for failing to sanction permission to the CBI to prosecute 54 police officers who have been chargesheeted in the violence that broke out between advocates and police in March 2012. 4. A fifteen-year-old was allegedly gang-raped by three men in JP Nagar police limits in Bengaluru on Wednesday afternoon. The three men have been arrested by the police and have been charged under POCSO Act and section 376 D of IPC. 5. University Grants Commission (UGC) declared the online courses and other programmes offered by the state-run Karnataka State Open University (KSOU) as invalid and warned candidates joining the courses that it may jeopardize their career.
