The rivalry between the adherents of the Tangalai and Vadakalai  sects in the Sri vaishnavas at the hill shrine of Venkateswara  in Tirumala took a drastic turn after one group decided to move court against the other over the alleged intentional change in the 'Namam' or 'Tilak' of the presiding deity.
