    1. The Seshachalam forest area in Chittoor saw forest guards opening fire once again on Tuesday, this time in the air, to scare away a group of smugglers who they stumbled upon near Vagetikona at Balayyapalli forest close to Koduru.The foresters found 1.50 tonnes of red sanders logs worth Rs 40 lakh in the morning when they went in search of the smugglers. The TTD board of trustees resolved to implement a 43 per cent hike in salary to its employees. The decision is likely to put an additional burden of around Rs. 72 crore annually on TTD.
