It’s that day of the year, when technology major Apple makes its official announcements on its new line of products, dominated by the iPhones. The prediction is that there will be three models of iPhones apart from the Apple Watches and iPad Pros and so on.

The three models are expected to be the iPhone X, iPhone XS Max and iPhone XR. The iPhone XS Max may become the talk of the town if one were to go by rumors and speculations. The reason for this is that the iPhone XS Max will come with a 6.5-inch screen, the largest Apple has ever attempted. The other phone, iPhone XR is being predicted as the lower-priced phone with a 6.1-inch display.

Some of the predictions/expectations for the September 12 Apple event as reported on Bloomberg are as below:

iPhones

The sequel to the last year’s iPhone X is likely to be the iPhone XS with a 5.8-inch OLED screen and its price could be $899. One may expect some improvements in the battery life as well as the camera setup and performance.

As indicated, there might be the large iPhone XS Max and apart from the 6.5-inch display, Apple could try out a 3-camera setup and support for the Apple Pencil on this model. The price being projected for this flagship model is anywhere between $1,000-$1,100.

Apple had made its intentions clear that it wants to have a model at a lower price capture the large market there and the third model to be released this year might be it. Likely to be called the iPhone XR, it could be priced even as low as $700 with a display size of 6.1 inches.

The rumours even suggest that Apple could come up with an updated version of its budget model the iPhone SE, but, as mentioned, these are only rumours.

Dual sim

While every smartphone today comes with dual sim cards, Apple has always stuck to single sim slots in its iPhones. The new iPhones that will be launch may come with dual sim support, a first in iPhones. An image posted on China Mobile’s Facebook page on September 6th shows an apple with two sims on it. However, GSMArena reports that the dual SIM functionality could be exclusive to China.

Other devices

Of the other devices, the Apple Watch 4 is also expected to come with a lot of improvements over the predecessors including the display size, more real estate, click-free buttons and more.

The OS, Watch OS 5 is also due for release in this event with several new features.

The new iPads could have a more premium look to them with smaller bezels similar to the iPhone X. At the event this year, two new models are likely to be launched – one 11-inch iPad and a 12.9-inch one.

The other products, such as Macs and Mac Books and AirPods as well as the new iOS 12 will all be heard about in the Wednesday event at the Steve Jobs Theater, Cuppertino.
