Those against corruption and communalism need to unite: Kamal, Kejriwal after Chennai meeting

'The reason we got together is singular, fighting against corruption and communalism,' said Kamal.

It was a meeting that had created much flutter in Chennai.

And emerging from an hour-long meeting at his residence with the Delhi Chief Minister, a beaming Kamal Haasan said, “I am honored that Delhi CM decided to visit me. The reason why we got together, the purpose is singular, fighting against corruption and communalism. I also have the same reputation and so we decided to meet. It was a learning curve to meet him.”

Though the two were mum about any political tie up, Arvind Kejriwal made it clear that they would work together.

“Kamal Haasan has a reputation of having integrity and courage. When the country is facing strong forces of corruption and communalism, all like minded people should talk to each other and work in tandem. I was happy when I learnt that a large number of honest people in this country who feel strongly against communalism, only a few people have the courage to stick their neck out. Kamal Haasan is a rare person like that,” he said.

Also present in the meeting were AAP leaders Ashutosh and Somnath Bharti.

Sources in the AAP had earlier told TNM that AAP was keen to work with Kamal Haasan and would like to work with Kamal Haasan

The filmmaker has been positioning himself as the voice against corruption in Tamil Nadu. Since aligning with any of the Dravidian parties would dilute his anti-corruption stand, sources say that Kamal Haasan would find it comfortable to work with AAP.

What was surprising however is that both the personalities who are normally open to answering questions, did not take a single question from the media.
