A shocking incident took place in Godhavarikhani, Telangana on Monday. A woman allegedly killed her two children by hitting them with a brick. Her elder son, Badri Ajay, who was 10 years old died instantly. His brother, six-year-old Aryan, succumbed while being treated at a hospital in Karimnagar.

"After taking the woman into custody, she told us that the kids would never obey her. On that day, when they were fighting with each other, she warned them of getting a beating. However, the kids retorted that they will call their father if she beat them. Angered by this, she hit them with a brick," said Godavarikhani I Town Circle Inspector, Vasudevarao.

The incident took place at Saptagiri Colony in Godavarikhani at around 8.30 am. Reportedly, Ramadevi and her husband, Srikanth had a huge fight on Sunday which continued the next day too. Ramadevi, who was already infuriated by the quarrel, vented out her anger on the children, police said.

Srikanth, Ramadevi's husband, accused his wife of temperamental issues and disclosed that she was recently sacked from the school where she was working for her inappropriate behaviour. He told the Times of India, "The school management didn't like her attitude while dealing with children and asked her to leave. She was under treatment."

The CI said, "On Monday too, they were fighting. When her husband left for the market to buy some flowers, she hit the kids with the brick."

After returning home, Srikanth saw their two sons lying in a pool of blood. Reportedly, Ramadevi tried to kill herself after the incident.

Police have arrested Ramadevi and filed a case under IPC section 302 (murder).

Incidentally, her neighbours say that Ramadevi was depressed, and her husband also said that she was on medication for the same. The police however, refute this and say that Ramadevi killed the children over a petty issue. "The woman does not have any mental health issue, we will produce her before the court and send her to remand," the CI added.
