The Telangana CID, probing the leak of medical EAMCET-II question paper, on Saturday arrested three more persons, including a key broker who was allegedly involved in similar cases earlier in Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh.

Sanikam Rajagopal Reddy (65) was arrested in Bengaluru, taking the total number of arrests in the case to six.

Describing Reddy as an "important broker", CID said he organised a camp in Bengaluru where 20 students procured by two brokers from Hyderabad and Vijaywada, who were arrested earlier this week, were given practice with leaked question papers. Reddy collected Rs 1.25 crore from the duo.

According to CID, Reddy was earlier arrested in several cases of medical entrance exam paper leakage cases and medical admission irregularities in Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh.

Meanwhile, two persons of a "medical academy" at Dilsukhnagar and L B Nagar in Hyderabad were also arrested.

They have been identified as Arigi Venkata Ramanaiah, who was running the 'academy', and Bandaru Ravidra, the mess in charge there.

"They sent four students of their academy to Pune camp through Shaik Ramesh alias Raheem for taking practice with the leaked question papers. They collected Rs 35 lakh from three students and paid to Shaik Ramesh," CID said in a statement.

With this, a total of six persons have been arrested in connection with the case.

"Efforts are on to apprehend the other brokers and accused persons in the question paper leakage," CID said.

The Engineering, Agriculture and Medical Common Entrance Test (EAMCET-II) was conducted on July 9 and the results were declared on July 14. The examination was conducted by Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University (JNTU), Hyderabad.
