The News Minute | November 15, 2014 | 08:48 am IST Karnataka governor Vajubhai Vala on Friday said that teaching children the Vedas and Sanskrit in schools could help in preventing rising crimes against children, states a report by The Times of India.  The governor made the statement during a Children's Day Celebration in Bengaluru. He said the studying the Vedas and other scriptures and preserving our cultures could reduce such incidents.  The Times of India also quotes him as saying, "Don't get me wrong, but more the education, the less cultured our people are becoming".
