The News Minute | December 26, 2014 | 10:00 am ISTA Telugu Desam Party (TDP) leader Kolla Appanna (42) was murdered in broad day light in Tekkali town in Srikakulam district on Thursday, causing tension in the town and surrounding areas of Sri Durga Malleswara temple. According to a report in The Hindu, the police claimed that as many as six people attacked the leader who is also an Mandal Parishad Territorial Constituencies (MPTC) member with sharp knives.Reports suggest that unidentified people arrived in an Auto Rickshaw and two bikes, stabbed him to death and fled the spot. Appanna (42) who died on the spot was accused in the murder case of Kolla Chandra Rao, former sarpanch of Tekkali in November 2013.The police are yet to identify the attackers and arrest those responsible for the attack.Tweet
