Indian mobile brands are realigning their strategy to target the transition customers, particularly in the Tier II and Tier III towns and even villages. As the 3G and 4G services expand, the switching from feature phones to smartphones is happening at a feverish pitch and they wouldn’t want to be left out of the fun.

Swipe Technologies has been releasing a series of models from its stable over the past few weeks and the latest to join the ranks is an entry level phone, the Swipe Neo Power. The phone has been endowed with minimum specifications to keep the price at affordable levels.

The Swipe Neo Power has a 4-inch display which is of the high definition FWVGA type and the screen resolution is 480x854pixels. The screen gets a Corning Gorilla Glass protection as well. The phone is powered by a quad-core processor that has a clocking speed of 1.3GHz which is not bad for an entry level phone.

This is supported by a meager 512MB RAM and 4GB internal memory storage. There is the provision to insert a microSD card and stretch the storage up to 32GB.

Swipe has decided to retain the Android Marshmallow 6.0 as the operating system. Again, the low RAM and ROM must have forced their hand. Higher versions will consume massive internal memory leaving very little for anything else.

On the camera front too, the Swipe Neo Power has stayed economical with a 5MP rear sensor and a 2MP front sensor. The rear camera does enjoy the support of the autofocus feature and LED flash.

The phone gets its energy through a 2500mAh battery and the manufacturers claim the phone can work for 200 hours on standby mode on a single charge of the battery. The talk-time is six hours.

As indicated, 4G VoLTE connectivity is a highlight of this device and other connectivity options like Bluetooth and Wi-Fi are also available.

The Swipe Neo Power is a dual SIM phone and its dimensions are 125mmx66mmx11 mm and 127 grams is the weight of the phone.

With all these specs, the phone is being sold through online retail outlets, like Amazon at Rs 2, 999. Color options include black, gold and grey.

It must prove to be attractive for the feature phone users to make a switch and enjoy the internet services their carriers are able to provide.
