Suriya and KV Anand have joined hands for the third time for Kaappaan which is touted to be an action thriller.  It was announced that the film will hit the screens on August 30.

If sources are anything to go by, the makers are planning to push the release date to September since on 30 August Prabha's Saaho is hitting the screens. The makers want to get more screens for Kaappaan since Saaho, being a pan-India film, has managed to acquire more screens. So they are in a plan to push the film's release to September. However, an official announcement on the same is still awaited.

In Saaho, Prabhas plays the male lead sharing the screen space with Shraddha Kapoor. The shooting of the magnum opus Saaho was wrapped up a few weeks ago and it went into the post-production mode. Directed by Sujeeth, it is bankrolled by V Vamshi Krishna Reddy and Pramod Uppalapati under the banner UV Creations on a budget of Rs 300 crores.

Kaappaan has been scripted jointly by director KV Anand and veteran writer Pattukottai Prabhakar with the former wielding the megaphone for it. Kaappaan is being bankrolled by A Subashkaran on a huge budget under his banner Lyca Productions. Kaappaan also has Mohanlal, Arya, Sayyeshaa, Boman Irani and Poorna in pivotal roles. The film’s shooting began in London last year and will be shot in various places including New York, Brazil, New Delhi and Hyderabad.

Harris Jayaraj is the music composer for this flick with Abhinandan Ramanujam roped in as the cinematographer and editing are done by Anthony. It may be mentioned here that MS Prabhu had worked as the cinematographer for the first schedule but had to opt out for various reasons was he was replaced by Abhinandan Ramanujam.
