Following their successful collaboration in films such as Ayan and Maattrraan, Suriya and filmmaker KV Anand have joined hands for third time for an action-thriller, currently dubbed as Suriya 37.

Bankrolled by Lyca Productions on a lavish budget, the project officially went on the floors on June 25 in London. The regular shooting began with an official pooja ceremony which was attended by Suriya, Anand and other leading cast and crew members of the film. The project will be shot in nearly ten countries and the crew has already zeroed in on some picturesque locations in New York, Brazil, England, Hyderabad and New Delhi.

The film is touted to be the costliest project in actor Suriya’s career. After working with Karthi in Kadai Kutty Singam, actor Sayyeshaa has been paired with Suriya for the first time. Last week, Anand took to Twitter to share the news that Sayyeshaa has been signed as the leading lady.

A thrilled Sayyeshaa wrote on her Twitter page: “Very happy to announced my next film opposite the dynamite Suriya sir and being directed by the brilliant KV Anand sir. It’s an honour to be able to share screen space with Mohanlal sir.”

Last Friday, the makers also announced that actors Boman Irani and Samuthirakani have been roped in for pivotal roles in the film, which marks the third time union of Suriya and Anand. It’s worth mentioning that the film will launch Munnabhai MBBS actor Boman Irani in Tamil. Last month, the makers confirmed signing Malayalam superstar Mohanlal and Telugu actor Allu Sirish for crucial roles in the project.

Meanwhile, the first time collaboration of Suriya and filmmaker Selvaraghavan, is titled NGK and its abbreviation is rumoured to be 'Nanda Gopalan Kumaran'. The film has been confirmed as a Deepavali release. The star will be teaming up next with director Sudha of Irudhi Suttru fame for Suriya 38. He also recently said that he was in discussions with director Hari who delivered the highly popular Singam franchise. However, the actor confirmed that it won’t be another Singam project.
