Thanks to actors Lissy, Kushbhu and others, the dream project of the multi-talented Suhasini Mani Ratnam came to life on stage and she was able to raise funds for Chennai's flood victims.

Posting the news on Facebook, Lissy shared her experience of working on the project thus:

Raja Ravi Varma Painting - An evening to remember. This was Suhasini Maniratnam's dream project of "Ravi Varma painting's come alive". I did the portrait of "The Royal Lady ". It was a surreal experience to "come alive" as a legendary painting. Kushboo, Gopika Varma and five other celebrities walked the ramp and danced as the other famous Ravi Varma portraits. It was a great evening. Thanks to Hasini. The event was organized to raise funds for Chennai flood victims.”

The actors from the south Indian film industry came together to give life to the project so that Suhasini Mani Ratnam could raise funds for the rehabilitation of Chennai flood victims. The show brought to life famous Ravi Varma paintings with the actors walking the ramp.

It may be mentioned here that Suhasini, in an interview to Rediff, had said earlier, “I am a well-wisher of the Ability Foundation. I have been part of Action Aid and have done a film for them on the empowerment of women. I am on the board of the Health Trust started by Srinidhi Chidambaram. Recently, I became the spokesperson for an NGO called Mukti, which distributes artificial limbs. It has distributed 1,20,000 artificial limbs in 20 years and the people behind it want to distribute 80,000 this year. I have also pulled Madhavan into it, and he is a spokesperson. I look for different kinds of activities to help different people.”
