Amidst a lot of speculations on when Simbu aka STR’s first English movie would start rolling, we hear from sources that it would happen next month. Earlier, reports suggested that the film’s shooting would commence in September but with the cinematographer Santosh Sivan busy with the SPYder release, Simbu’s film was postponed. Santosh Sivan is the cinematographer of the AR Murugadoss directorial SPYder, which has Mahesh Babu playing the lead role.

Reports suggest that the English film will be wrapped up in three months and plans are on to complete the entire shooting and post-production within that timeframe. While Yuvan Shankar Raja will be scoring music for this venture, editing will be done by Anthony. Simbu will be directing the film apart from playing the lead role in it.

Sources in the tinsel town say that this film will be a quickie as Simbu is all set to join the sets of the Mani Ratnam directorial in January next year. The film will also have Fahadh Faasil and Jyothika in the star cast. Simbu, who shares a good rapport with Gautham Menon, has roped him in, to write the dialogues for the film. It may be mentioned that Gautham Menon directed Simbu in two films Vinnai Thaandi Varuvaya, which was a massive hit, and Achcham Yenbadhu Madamaiyada.

Simbu’s last release Anbanavan Asaradhavan Adangadhavan was a disaster at the box office and the star is working towards getting his career back on track. With this English film, he is all set to bounce back, say sources.

Simbu began his career as a child artiste way back in 1984 and has acted in a number of films as a child artiste and hero since then. He is also an accomplished singer and has directed the movie Vallavan in 2006.
