The first single, Boom Boom, from Mahesh Babu's highly anticipated bilingual Spyder will be released on August 2 at 6 pm. Apparently, going forward there will one announcement from the makers every Wednesday up until the release. The teaser of the film will be released on August 9, to coincide with Mahesh Babu's birthday. The audio launch will take place in the last week of August, according to reliable sources. 

The film is confirmed to hit the screens on September 27. Lyca Productions, the makers behind films such as Rajinikanth’s 2.0 and Kamal Haasan’s currently stalled Sabash Naidu, has acquired the Tamil Nadu theatrical rights of the film. The industry grapevine is that Lyca bagged the rights for a whopping Rs. 25 crore, making it the highest buy for a Mahesh Babu film in the state. All his earlier films which were dubbed and released in Tamil Nadu were sold for as low as Rs. 2 crore.

The film is being directed by AR Murugadoss, and his association with the project has definitely helped the makers fetch a very high price in Tamil Nadu. In the film, Mahesh plays an intelligence bureau (IB) officer and it is said that he performed most of the stunts sans body double, leaving everybody on the sets stunned with his commitment. The film, which is being made on a budget of over Rs 100 crore, also features Rakul Preet Singh, Bharath, RJ Balaji, Priyadarshi and SJ Suryah in important roles. Harris Jayaraj is composing the music. 

Spyder marks the first collaboration of Murugadoss and Mahesh Babu, and the film will have a simultaneous release in Hindi and Malayalam as well. Tipped to be high on never before seen kind of action, Reliance Entertainment is said to have bagged the Hindi rights of the film.
