Sony has just released the latest model of its ‘A 7 III’ camera, which is an entry level device and its significance is that it’s of a ‘full-frame mirrorless’ one. The 24.2-megapixel lens on this camera has been recently developed by Sony.

The new camera is being made available in a couple of variants; one has just the shell or the body of the camera and no lens inside and the other, the ‘Bundle kit’. The kit will have the range of lenses in sizes ranging from 28mm to 70mm.

Though labelled an entry-level device, the Sony A 7 III camera has the superior capabilities you can expect from a Sony camera. The 10 frames per second (fps) shooting speed and recording of 4K videos are very much featured on the new camera. The processing-engine ‘BIONZ X’ has also been given an update over the predecessor A 7 II and it makes it better by over 1.8 times the previous one.

Apart from these, the improvements made in the camera include the addition of 4D Focus. With 425 focus points, this feature enables the user to cover up to 93% of the frame while focusing. The Sony A7 III camera is also capable of shooting 177 standard JPEG images, 89 compressed RAW images or 40 uncompressed RAW images. The ISO range is also quite impressively wide at 100 to 51, 200 and further expandable to 204, 800 as well as a 15-stop dynamic range at low light settings.

Sony also claims that it has fitted it with a much-improved battery with the new A 7 III capable of clicking 700 images on a single charge and the company claims this is the highest for any mirrorless camera.

As for the prices, the body only Sony A 7 III can be picked up for Rs 1,64,990, while with the ‘bundle kit’, the camera will come for Rs 1 79,990.
