The News Minute | January 18, 2015 | 10:20 am IST Union HRD Minister Smriti Irani laid the foundation for the Indian Institute of Management on Saturday in the port city of Vizag and promised that the project would be sped up. The campus which would be situated at Gambheeram - the outskirts of the city, plans to open its doors to the first batch from the academic year 2015-16, a report in the Times of India adds. Irani, speaking on the occasion, added six more IIMs were under consideration and added that an IIM Bill would be introduced in Parliament very soon. IIM-Bangalore director Sushil Vachani said IIM-B would mentor IIM-V so that it turns into a world-class education centre and spoke about plans to launch online courses. Union urban development minister M Venkaiah Naidu said that the Centre was eager to implement online education to ensure skill development for all.  Chief minister Chandrababu naidu, Union civil aviation minister P Ashok Gajapathi Raju and Andhra state HRD Minister Ganta Srinivasa Rao were also present at the foundation laying ceremony .
