The director of Bogan, Lakshmanan clarified that SJ Suryah may reprise the role done by Arvind Swamy in the Bogan Telugu remake. Refuting rumours that Arvind Swamy may be playing the role in the Telugu version as well, the director said that some changes have been made to the script to suit the Telugu audiences following which it was decided to cast SJ Suryah instead of Arvind Swamy who had played the role in the original.
Bogan, which had Jayam Ravi and Hansika as the lead pair will have Ravi Teja and Catherine Tresa playing the roles in the Telugu remake. Director Lakshmanan, who had directed the Tamil version, will be wielding the megaphone for the Telugu version.
The film’s scripting work is currently on and according to reports, the shooting would commence later this year. Ravi Teja is currently busy with two Telugu films – Touch Chesi Choodu and Raja the Great – both of which are slated for release later this year.
Ravi Teja began his career with the 1990 release Karthavyam and has acted in a number of films including Varasudu, Ninne Pelladutha, Padutha Teeyaga, Oka Raju Oka Rani, Dongodu, Naa Autograph, Kick 2. His last release was Bengal Tiger which hit the marquee during the fag end of 2015.
It may be mentioned that Bogan is a supernatural thriller that was released in Tamil earlier this year. The film had Jayam Ravi and Hansika playing the lead pair with Arvind Swamy as the main antagonist. The shooting of the Telugu remake is expected to commence later this year with plans to release the film in summer next year. More details about the remake would come up after the scripting work is completed, said the director.
