The News Minute | June 12, 2014 | 9:!4 AM IST Six people were arrested in Kerala on Wednesday evening in connection with a college magazine controversy. The magazine of the Government Polytechnic College in Kunnamkulamwhich came out during February this year and showed the picture of Narendra Modi alongside terrorists and smugglers like Osama Bin Laden, and Veerappan. The police on Wednesday arrested six men, including the magazine staff editor. The six have now been granted bail, college authorities told The News Minute.The police also seized 292 copies of the magazine after conducting a raid inside the Government Polytechnic College in Kunnamkulam. Speaking to The News Minute, the college's acting Principal Baburaj had earlier said that the magazine was made by students of the previous batch who have already passed out. Baburaj also admitted that it was a negligence from the part of the college magazine to let this happen. The issue was picked up by the media after the Vice President of the Yuva Morcha filed a complaint against the publishers under IPC section 153. The magazine named "Litoskniga" carried Modi's picture under the heading "Negative Faces". Magazine staff editor and teacher- Gopi, student editor - CS Praveen, sub editors - PR Nikhil., KK Shyam and Jimson James along with the magazine publisher Rajiv were arrested this morning. The college authorities also suspended five other students who were there on the Magazine Committee, reports say.
