The Simbu starrer Vandha Rajavathaan Varuven was scheduled as a Pongal release but it now appears that the release may be postponed. Sources in the know say that a delay in the post-production of this flick has forced its filmmakers to consider releasing it on February 1st, a couple of days prior to its lead star Simbu’s birthday which falls on the 3rd. However, there is no official confirmation on this from the filmmakers.

It may be noted here that Simbu was set on having Vandha Rajavathaan Varuven release for Pongal despite strong opposition from the Tamil Film Producers Council.

Vandha Rajavathaan Varuven has been directed by Sundar C and bankrolled by A Subhashkaran’s Lyca Productions. While Simbu plays the lead role in it, Catherine Tresa and Megha Akash will be seen as his lead pairs.

Vantha Rajavathaan Varuven is one of the iconic dialogues in Chekka Chivantha Vanam. The makers recently released the first look teaser of the film which opens up with the famous dialogue of actor and former chief minister of Tamil Nadu MGR and is a complete action-packed treat for STR fans

The star cast of this film also includes Prabhu, Ramya Krishnan, Nasser, VTV Ganesh, ‘Motta’ Rajendran, Robo Shankar, and Yogi Babu. The teaser of this flick, which is an action comedy drama, was released last month and was well received by the film buffs. This has created a big hype for its release.

In an interview to the Silverscreen.com, Sundar C had told, “The hero is in tune with himself and with the scenario he finds himself in. He is not immature or naive. He is the complete man. It’s not just for STR fans. It is for everybody. That’s what I told Simbu when we first spoke about the movie. Vantha Rajavathaan Varuven has something for everybody.”

With reports that the movie may not make it to the Pongal race, we need to wait for an official word from its makers on the release date.
