Actress Shruti Haasan has hit a jackpot. Currently basking in the success of SI3, she has been signed on to play the lead in Sundar C’s upcoming magnum opus Sanghamitra, which will be made on a whopping budget of Rs 150 crore. Also starring Arya and Jayam Ravi in the lead, the project is slated to go on the floors from April, and Shruti is really excited to be a part of the project.
According to a source from the film’s unit, Shruti recently completed her paperwork and has officially signed on the dotted line. She accepted the offer because it’s going to be the biggest project yet in her career and her role has immense scope for performance. Even though the makers had a few options, they zeroed in on Shruti because of her popularity and talent to perform.
Shruti will commence shooting from May, and meanwhile, will complete work on her other projects such as Behen Hogi Teri and Pawan Kalyan’s Katamarayudu.
To be bankrolled by Sri Thenandal Films, the film will also be made in Telugu and Hindi. However, the process will take time as they will be made with an entirely different cast.
