Shruti Haasan, like her father, the versatile actor and filmmaker Kamal Haasan, has done films in Tamil, Hindi and Telugu so far. Besides acting, she has also proved her mettle as a singer and musician.

The latest we hear about Shruti is that she is all set to make her debut in the international arena. Reports are that she has been signed up for a role in the television series Treadstone.

It is an action drama television series based on the Bourne film series. The series has been created by Tim Kring, who is bankrolling it along with Ramin Bahrani, Ben Smith, Jeffrey Weiner, Justin Levy, Bradley Thomas, and Dan Friedkin. The series will premiere on USA Network. Ramin Bahraini will be directing this venture.

According to reports, Shruti will portray Nira Patel, an undercover agent in Delhi, whose waitress job serves as a cover for a dangerous double life as a trained assassin.

Reports are that the series will cover how Jason Bourne was shaped, trained and put into action in covert-ops program 'Operation Treadstone'. With the actor venturing into an international project, her fans must be excited.

Shruti currently has the Hindi movie Power, which is being directed by Mahesh Manjrekar. She also has the Tamil flick Laabam in her kitty for which SP Jananathan is wielding the megaphone.

The film has Vijay Sethupathi playing the lead role and he will be seen as a social activist. The others in pivotal roles include Kalaiyarasan, Harish Uthaman and Jagapathi Babu.

The technical crew of Laabam comprises of Ramji as cinematographer with D Imman roped in as the music composer and Anthony as the editor. The shooting of this film began a couple of months ago and is expected to hit the silver screens later this year.
