Shraddha Srinath has bagged a role in the Rishab Shetty directorial Rudraprayag. The plot of the film reportedly revolves around forest and wildlife conservation. In the movie, Shraddha will play a reserve forest officer in charge of the forest in Belgavi. The film will also star Anant Nag in a lead role.

On choosing the title Rudraprayag, the director had said in an interview earlier to the New Indian Express, “Prayag means sangama (confluence) in Hindi, and the subject will have relevance to Rudraprayag, which is established if you turn the poster upside down. This is a point of confluence of two rivers – Alaknanda and Mandakini – and they are of different characters. While one is completely calm, the other river is very vibrant. It then forms the river Ganga. That’s the speciality of this place.”

The shooting of this film will begin next month and the director is planning on releasing it in summer next year. The director added that he will be roping in about eight actors for Rudraprayag but the content will be the main hero. Reports say that some actors are in talks with the director already and their inclusion will be announced as and when they come on board. Further, a cheetah will be playing one of the main characters in the film and it will be an interesting watch, we hear.

Last seen in Ajith’s Nerkonda Paarvai, the official Tamil remake of the Hindi Pink, Shraddha Srinath was recently roped in for Vishal’s Irumbu Thirai sequel. She made her debut in the Kannada film industry with U Turn in 2016. A mystery thriller, the film was written, produced and directed by Pawan Kumar. A heroine-centric film, Shraddha played the lead role with Roger Narayan, Dilip Raj and Radhika Chetan in supporting roles. Shraddha won the Filmfare Best Actor – South and the SIIMA Award for her performance in the film.
